House of Representatives for six years (1967-1972) and in the S.C. State Senate for sixteen years (1972-1988), he has accumulated a great many memories. And over the past quarter century published five small books of those recollections, including "The Magic of Pawleys Island" (1999), "Roofs Over My Head" (2003), "A Brief History of Georgetown and Its Downtown" (2007), "A Murder in Georgetown" (2014), and "Letters from Iwo Jima" (2015). These works are freshly edited and complemented with new "old" photographs, along with poetry his mother wrote and always wished published, to create "The Collected Works of a Lowcountry Son." |
