Description: A small group of women business owners in Georgetown, South Carolina, joined forces early in 2023 to create events and jointly promote their businesses. One of the projects involved "adopting" and displaying metal goats in their enterprises, as a nod to "Goat Island" in the Sampit River. Using the goats to promote events led to setting one in front of a store, sipping wine from a glass through a straw, with a sign welcoming all to "sip and shop." Others promoted seasonal sales with jaunty hats, fun jewelry, and sporty neckwear. Next, each store owner was asked to create a story about their goat which was then illustrated and compiled in this charming book. We offer it with the invitation to residents and visitors alike to take a stroll along Front Street and visit the characters in Goat Tales!
